This adaptive reuse project transformed underutilized ground-floor retail space within an existing nine-unit multifamily building into two new residential units, increasing the property’s housing capacity while preserving the character of the existing structure. Utilizing the Adaptive Reuse Ordinance, the design modernized the building’s appearance, enhanced street presence, and improved overall functionality, resulting in an updated eleven-unit residential community that contributes additional housing through the efficient repurposing of existing urban building stock.
